This page is dedicated to exploring energy usage and conservation at BMU.

Mrs. Gay's 7th & 8th Grade Problem Solving Class presented a set of recommendations for energy conservation at BMU to the School Board on May 18, 2010. Click here to see the list of ten recommendations (pdf).
The school received a grant from the "Vermont Community Climate Change" Grant Program. This awarded the school $12,000 for which to install a solar photovoltaic system. This system is mounted on the roof of the school and creates energy that feeds directly into the electricity grid. It also provides digital data via network that can be used in BMU classrooms for various learning activities. Click the thumbnail images for views of the solar array. This project was completed with the generous support of Green Works Solar Store (Brad Vietje) and Briana Electric (Brent Smith) of Groton.
